SC Controller - This allows you to use your Steam controller without using Steam or having it installed at all. We also have the following programs installed:Īntimicro - This is game for games that were made with no controller support whatsoever - You can make it work with your gamepads by loading up the profiles. Most of my family is on Ubuntu Mate except for my lady that is on Fedora and my oldest kid who uses Manjaro and Ubuntu dual booted. Never used a XBOX controller before but I have ppl that I know on Linux using it and they use it without issue. All of our gaming rigs have some controller on them with my main one having 2 on them at all times.

Most of them are PS3 and NES knock offs from the dollar store.Īll of my HTPCs are set up with 4 game controllers ready to go for all of the games we own on Steam, itch.io, GOG, Humble Bundle, Emulators, freeware and others. We also have a bunch of no name brand ones for our basement gaming setup. We've not had any issue with gamepads in many years (almost 10, I would say). My entire immediate family are gamers and we all use Linux and gamepads to play all of our games.

This wiki page can help you gather system information. What exactly did you do, and how, and with what version of what? How have you tried to troubleshoot the problem? Vague, low-effort tech-support requests may get removed. Include relevant details like logs, terminal output, system information. Tech-support requests posted outside the Weekly Tech-Support Thread should be of general interest. It is not (primarily) a tech-support forum. I keep hoping Steam will add "Exit Game" to their home button menu, but it hasnt happened yet, despite it being requested a lot./r/Linux_Gaming is for informative and interesting gaming content, news and discussions.

I could use XPadder or something to map, say, Homekey + back on my xb360 controller to Alt+f4, but that's far from ideal, and it would mean any game other than pj64 that I launched if I accidentally pressed both Id wind up with that game closed too, even though the feature wouldnt be needed in any windows game that has an "exit game" in their menu.

When I go to Options, Settings, Keyboard Shortcuts, it seems that it is in fact ONLY keyboard shortcuts.Ĭurrently I run Project 64 via Steam Big Picture Mode shortcuts for each game (custom artwork and all for all of the tiles) But when it comes time to turn off the game I am stuck reaching for my keyboard. I am trying to close project64 via controller button, but I am unable to map this.
